I'm looking around for getting such a connection, because it has almost only good things!
 
  1. First there is the fact, that the phone-line is not used! So there is no fee to pay for the time beeing connected!
  2. Secondly the connection is made up at any time the PC is running!
  3. Third point is, that you will get a unique IP-address which will help to set up your PC to be a server that can be accessed by other people easy!
  4. Fourth there will be a speed you would only dream of. It's in the range of 2Mbit/s up to 30Mbit/s for the Download and 128Kbit/s to 2Mbit/s for the Upload!!
I hope that it won't take too long until the local CATV provider will support my hometown! This would be CABLECOM.
To have a Cable Modem Connection is realy one of my biggest dreams!
