I start by telling you a little story showing
how I got in contact with this country. However it may sound a little bit
strange but it's all true!

My uncle, a hydrologist wanted one day to see a new land during his holidays and therefor he read the advertisements in a travelling company's catalogue. Suddenly he noticed a nice picture of a little house at a lake in Finland. Then he went to this place for the summer holidays and he was surprised by the nature and the nice sunsets! |
Back in Switzerland he told me how much he liked to be in Finland and so I wanted to go there too. Two years later I had the possibility to meet the family who lets typical Finnish little houses at the lake named Päjäjärvi. The little village is called Ryhälä. The nearest town is Puumala. For You to locate the place easier, I include this Map.

Since then I went to Finland almost every summer holidays.
I've not yet been to Finland during the winter!
Yes, people say: Hey Finland is in the north and it must
be very cold there! But please belief me: It's possible that you find in
Finland higher temperatures than in Switzerland! Also if you like swimming,
it's grate in the summers to have 25 degrees warm water in a lake right
near your house.
